Daydream Island

Daydream Island really does describe itself!

This up-market resort island will have you feeling like you're in a world away from reality. Only a short boat ride from Airlie Beach, sailing across the Coral Sea, you'll arrive within 30 minutes. Spanning 1km in length and 400m at its widest, the island is a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Airlie Beach. Perfect for a family holiday or a quick weekend away with friends or a loved one.

Comprising only two resorts, the island encapsulates the calmness of the reef while still offering plenty of activities for those keen to explore. A popular location for sailing, snorkeling, and diving, there's an abundance of activities that'll encourage you to leave your poolside cocktail for an afternoon in the beautiful blue waters.

Part of the Molle Group, a sub-region within the Whitsundays Islands, Daydream Island is formally known as West Molle Island. The name 'Daydream' first came into use in the 1930s, when the Murray's established the first tourist resort on the island, and Daydream was the name of the yacht on which they sailed.

We encourage everyone to make a stop off at Daydream island, even if it's just for a day. You'll leave feeling calm and in awe at what this small island can offer.
